The currents absolutely rip through there when the tide is coming in or out. I don't recommend kayaking unless you time it so the current works with you well. Also, if you get caught in the cut with boat traffic, it can be a nightmare.

Happens every St Peters festival. It's always a good time to go down and watch, or even to just go to the other festivities. Recommend it.

I have NEVER heard of a shuttle to the train station. But that is an EXCELLENT idea! :)
This really is a wonderful beach, shame it gets so crowded sometimes, though. Also, much of the beach was lost in the Mothers' Day storm (of 2005? 2007?) and ever since it seems there's a struggle to prevent further beach loss. Each spring and mid-summer since there seems to be an effort to restore much of the beach but it continues to wash away. Regardless, there's always lots of beach at low tide. High tide is when the recent problems have been.

The rocks are not privately owned. You are correct the neighors will hassle the divers, but stand firm. It is not restricted and many of the Magnolia residents have posted their own 'no parking' sign such as the people across from teh Pier (this private plot is actually public property but is listed as a grey area - another property I researched - property is currently forsale). I have researched this back to the 1800's and the area is public. Minimally, the high tide line to the ocean is public property - you need only consult the Mass Maritime Laws.

That is incorrect. This picture is Ten Pound Island. Five Pound Island no longer exists as the Jodrey state fish pier now extends to what was 5 pound island.

The harbor is a lot bigger than this box. This is just the inner harbor and some of downtown which is obviously not the harbor.
